Why would a vendor submit their information here? Community banks and credit unions are members of cbanc. These members use cbanc, among other things, to find vendors that sell a certain product or service. They also can rate their experiences with vendors and read their peers' ratings and comments of vendors.

Submitting your information here ensures that your company and products show up when these members are searching for a given product. There is no charge to be listed inside cbanc. It is our goal to provide the widest array of choices for the members, so we do not endorse or restrict any vendor. Qualitative judgments about a particular vendor are left to the members and their ability to express their opinions with a review.

Once you submit your information, we will contact you to confirm the proper classification of your products/services. It is possible that your firm is already listed, as members frequently request vendors to be added so they can write reviews. We will also give you an administrative login so you can manage your own profile.

In an upcoming release (date TBD, but likely in Q3 of 2009), vendors will be able to participate at a much more interactive level with cbanc members. Future functionality for vendors should include:

• cbanc members will be able to purchase (using points) content you post into cbanc Exchange.
  
• You will be able to respond to unanswered questions where a member's peers had not yet responded to that question. To protect members' privacy, vendors cannot see a member's identity, but the member will know you as a vendor solved their problem.
  
• You will be able to answer Wanted Ads. Let's say a member posts a Wanted Ad for a FACTA Red Flag Policy. You would be able to post your version of that model language/policy and the member would buy it using points. This gives you valuable market exposure.
  
• You will be able to read and respond to vendor reviews written about you.
  
  
• Future ideas, probably after the Q3 release, include:
• ability to target advertise to cbanc members doing, say, a due diligence project for a certain product where you as a vendor aren't included in the project
• ability to send members electronic surveys to data mine them

Some subset of the above ideas will continue to be free. Others will incur a subscription fee. Those details will be published as the software becomes available. We are open to discussing any other ideas you have regarding how the vendor community can interact with this private, concentrated  membership of community financial institutions.
